Transitioning the Chinese way

Highlights of MC to MC transition Day 1:

Dexter quoting from Marx and Mao within a 10 minute period to explain AIESEC Mainland China's "do it" culture. (My personal favourite from the book of Mao today: it doesn't matter whether the cat is white or black so long as it catches the mouse.)

Dexter discussing the need to "brain wash" yourself with your own ideas. This is quite relevant for anyone. He was talking about how the best stage and screen actors focus intensely on their character and the feeling and content before they go out in front of an audience. In the same way you need to convince yourself you are this character or that this strategy is going to work before you launch it. If you're not personally convinced you can do thisk, your audience will not be convinced either. As a result people will then question you and doubt you, which leads to you doubting your own performance. Internal propaganda can be a powerful personal tool.

Update: Lesson from day 2

Do not mix the issue of quality with the issue of numbers.

They are two separate issues to be dealt with separately.

Keep the focus and you can achieve success in AIESEC in both areas.

hehehe.. couldn't resist on that debate... too close to my heart..

Quality is a process that starts with attitude of the every member towards what an exchange is about...

And it comes in at every step - including telling a TN that their jobrole is not good enough...

Besides any quality control expert will tell you - build quality into the entitre manufacturing process - dont deal with it as an end goal.. it will be too expensive and too last minute

That's something the chinese can learn from the japanese..

There's a reason why Toyotas are such great cars...
